Chapter 11: The Creation of Man


Genesis 1:26
Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.

Genesis 2:7
the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Note:
Genesis 2:7 The Hebrew for man (adam) sounds like and may be related to the Hebrew for ground (adamah); it is also the name Adam (see Genesis 2:20)

Genesis 5:1-2
(1)This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. (2)He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them 'man.'

Psalm 16:11
You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 73:25-26
(25) Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
(26) My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
